Metaphor VS Simile
Metaphor is when a word or thing is applied to an object, a Simile Is the same thing just using the words ‘Like’ or ‘As’
Metaphors for life, Life is a maze, filled with twists and turns / Life is like social media, you cannot control what people say, you can just choose to follow or unfollow them
Metaphors for Death, Death is an English classroom / Death is isolation, you are in it by yourself.
Simile’s for life, Life is like robbing a store, you never know how much money your gonna get / Life is like a yellow sun, shining down on the cold sky.
Personification VS
Personification is applying human traits to non – human objects.
Personification words for a table / Stood, stubborn, erect For headphones / Sang, exclaimed, clamour, yarn For chair / Carry, withstand, skinny For computer / Displayed, processed BooK / Knowledgeable, wise, carry
The crooked tree sprawled his many arms outwards, reaching for the golden sun / The lonesome tree stood patiently, awaiting his friends to reach out from the ground beneath him, and join him for millennia/ The crisp and clear water clones the exquisite view above it. / The moss grows fat on the rolling stones around it, soaking up all other colours only to be replaced with green. / The crooked mansion stood cowardly above the ground below
Hyperbole is an extreme exaggeration used to imply importance

The captivating sun rose gracefully up above the gargantuan mountains. Deliberately it brushed the sky with its colour and gave all people underneath it sight.
The sunset painted the sky with glorious colours to be beheld by those brave enough to venture there / Still the water stood, waiting for a rock of minuscule size to eagerly create a ripple to last until the end of time / God’s gift to man lay for millennia growing slowly and tranquilly over time
Preposition, is a word governing, and usually preceding, a noun or pronoun and expressing a relation to another word or element.
She sat on the chair, as the world was disappearing around her she could only focus her attention on the old tales from the book she was inspecting. under the cool-lit sky, no sound was made, no wind would follow, there was just silence as she began her journey into the book.
Show Don’t Tell, This is showing the reader key moments through firsthand actions rather than telling them. This creates a deeper connection between the reader and the book. This is often done by using the 5 senses
The boy was sad / He could taste the salt in his tears as they flowed down his red and puffy face, muscles in his face hurt from crying, he was not going to see her again, his heart felt broken and it ached in his chest. The dog wanted to go for a walk / Eagerly the dog barked, my heart was running at max speed, I jumped around wildly as the blood flowed all around his body. I could hear the door being opened by my owner, sally, THIS WAS IT. When they embraced she could tell he had been smoking and was scared / Rampantly, she clutched onto him, a thick accent of smoke filled the air her throat tingled, it was the smell of marijuana. The temperature fell and the ice reflected the sun / A frost set over the strander survivor, it folded over him and forced his eyes shut.
Mount Shrek

Storm clouds had been gathering for several hours, and the ship’s captain knew they were in trouble… Above the rocks, which were as black as death itself, they were trapped. The smell of salt and the crashing of the waves was nauseating. This was not the way to the treasure, the prophecy had stated that whoever could reach the highest peak of mount Shrek would be rich with gold and treasures as if God himself had captured all the joy in the world and turned it into jewels. Captain James T. Kirk had fallen to a sickness of the heart that only gold could cure. The trek to the lonely mountain was a perilous one, everything was smooth sailing until a storm erupted from nowhere causing the ship to strand itself on a rocky bank. The crew members believed that this was the end and cried out horrifically as though they were cowards. On the ships stubborn helm, Captain Kirk stood in a final attempt to rouse his men, fore this was not the end. They had not come all this way to fail now.
